With WWII, Activision and Sledgehammer have added some new features to the game that help bridge the gap between the hyper-futuristic titles of the recent past with the boots-on-the-ground experience that is CoD’s foundation. No matter how good you get, others will get better, too. Playing against other people will always prove to be a challenge. Multiplayerįor the past few years, CoD’s campaigns have always taken a backseat to Multiplayer. And, finally, there’s Nazi Zombies, a co-op mode where players go head-to-head with gamebots. Then there is Multiplayer, a cornerstone of CoD titles, where players face off with other players online in a range of game modes. There is the Campaign, an immersive single-player story that takes the player (Private Daniels) on an actual tour, fighting in historic battles, of the Western Front. This means that we will be testing this game with AMD's Radeon Software Crimson ReLive 17.11.1 Driver and Nvidia's Geforce 388.13 driver.As is standard with CoD titles, World War II is truly three games wrapped up into one. Will older PCs be able to cope with this Activision's latest COD title, or will this game require the use of a high-end gaming PC?Īs always, we will be using the most recent drivers from AMD and Nvidia at the time of release. The question that we will be answering today is how well Call of Duty: WWII plays on modern PC hardware. On this PC, Call of Duty: WWII has been worked on by both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, lacking support for modern APIs like Vulkan and DirectX 12 and making use of commonly used DirectX 11 standard.


In recent year the series has started to wain in popularity, especially on the PC platform where other competitive shooters are widely available, with Call of Duty: WWII being set to regain the series some of it's lost momentum by moving back the series to its WWII roots with a greater focus on the game's campaign while also delivering the game's popular online component and Nazi Zombied modes. The Call of Duty series is easily one of the most recognisable brand names in all of video games, with the series remaining popular over the past decade with yearly iterations on the series formula.
